General Guidelines
- Both abstracts and extended abstracts should be submitted via our online submission system only.
- Submitted extended abstracts will be reviewed through a double blind review process and the comments received will be notified to the corresponding authors.
- Accepted abstracts incorporating any suggestions should be submitted both in .doc (or .docx) and .pdf format on or before the deadline mentioned to authors with the acceptance notification.
- Abstracts will be rejected without further consideration if plagiarism is detected.
- The Publication Committee recommends all authors to verify their abstracts against plagiarism using any free online plagiarism checker before submission (e.g. www.plagscan.com/seesources/analyse.php).
- Each accepted abstract must be presented by one of its authors at the conference.
- Accepted abstracts can be presented either by in-person or by virtual presentation. Authors interested in a virtual presentation should register for the virtual presentation. Papers for virtual presentation will appear in the conference programme and in the Proceedings of the VIRC2018.
- Oral presentations will be held in parallel sessions under categorized thematic areas.
- Authors who wish to participate in the conference must register through the registration page: www.conf.jfn.ac.lk/virc/?page_id=476.
- The Author Declaration Form signed by all authors giving the information on corresponding author and preferred track should be submitted along with the abstract submission. Author Declaration Form can be submitted as a pdf file or as an image file. Abstracts submitted without author declaration form will not be considered.
- Template for extended abstract, author declaration form, camera ready template and submission guidelines can be downloaded from the links provided at the bottom of this page.
- Extended abstracts should not exceed 4 pages including references.
- Once the abstracts and author declaration forms are received an acknowledgement will be sent to the corresponding author by e-mail.
- Selected abstracts will be invited for full paper publication which will be published in Vingnanam Journal of Science (https://vingnanam.sljol.info/) which is a Jaffna University, Science Faculty Journal.
Guidelines for Submission
All abstracts and extended abstracts should be written in English language using MS Word (.docx or .doc format). and they should not exceed one page and four pages respectively within the given format.
Find below some important information about the page layout and content:
- Paper Size : A4 (8.27” × 11.69”)
- Font : Times New Roman
- Margins : Left 1.5 inches, right, top and bottom 1 inch
- Language: British English
- Non-English and Technical Terms : In italics
- Figures, Tables, Plates : Maximum two (2) in the extended abstract only
